Serenity

First thing I’ll say is our influences - Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Silverchair, Pearl Jam, Chilies, Q.O.T.S.A, Rage, Muse…..obviously I could go on forever but …..oh hang on Metallica as well! ok that’s it …..no….Korn, Slipknot, Deftones. Ok I’ll stop, but that should give you the general idea.... System of a down....of what we sound like, Not James Blunt.

We’re a 4 piece band and half of us come from a little town in Devon called Ivybridge, the other two are from Plymouth about 10 miles away. Me and Ant (bass) have been friends since primary school and after developing a love for all things grunge, started to learn our instruments together. We’ve been jammin ever since and created a unique sense of musical telepathy between us that is the base of the serenity sound. About 3 years ago we met lead guitarist Paul who although smaller than most his guitars, still plays them like they were attached to him from birth. His diverse musical tastes are routed in Prog Rock and with hero’s like John Petrucci, Jo Satriani and Steve Vai, he adds a polished, but most the time Killer dimension to our sound! The band finally formed in April 2006 when we met 21 year old Geography and Outdoor Adventure student Jon (Drums). His ability to keep our songs chugging along like a human metronome at the controls of a steam train, and a strangely similar musical taste and attitude, finally persuaded us to do this seriously!

We’ve played about 20 times in and around Plymouth and our live shows have gone from strength to strength. Thankfully so has the size of the crowds (Myspace is a wonderful thing!) Each show is always very emotional and very intense, just like the songs! I find it impossible to write lyrics and music that isn’t incredibly personal to me and that comes across on stage in a good way, I’m told!

Our mission is simple. No gimmicks, just music. Big songs, with big riffs, a lot of melody, and a punk rock heartbeat.

The Quails
The Quails are a five piece band formed in March of 2006. All of the members have been in different bands before. All of which fell apart because of other members moving away etc. Now the Quails have come up with a fresh new sound, and are gigging around the south west with their catchy tunes and lyrics. The band was first formed when the singer song writer (Dan Steer) was spending a time with other local bands on the way to sucsess (Hey Molly, Red Paper Dragon) so decided to form a band. So one drunken night down the pub, a few phone calls later, and the quails were formed. With a 45 minute set they entered various competitions. And now with more new exiting material and the live energy who knows whats to come for the Quails?........

About Junction 27
Hello, we are a group of four 18 yr old lads who like music very much. We'v been jamming together since we were about 13 and have always loved to play and write music together. Since gettin into the music scene through local open mic nights in our home town Braunton, we have progressed through playing support for our favourite bands like L.A ska punkers Meet Me at The Pub to playing at sports festivals such as Gold Coast Ocean Fest in Croyde and headlining Bristol Bike Festival for two consecutive years! We love most to play live and always have a good time at our gigs, making each one individual. Recently we recorded a new mini album at Chris' house in Darracott using some home recording equipment. This demo features 6 of our favourite tracks and is set to storm through the u.k like anthrax. Always busy writing new material and giggin we are all absolutely dedicated to music and are loving every minute of it, skint or not. We have played across the country in Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Stafford, Bristol, Exeter but we want to make like Captain Everything! and try to pull of 100 or 200 shows a year. Our main musical influences are Rage Against The Machine, The Specials, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bob Marley. Our music is a fresh mix of all these artists genres, if you can't imagine that then have a listen! hope you like it, if you want us to play in a town near you or have any enquiries bout the band please contact us at junction27@hotmail.com peace x

The Various Assortments

Based in Liskeard, Cornwall, UK, The Various Assortments are currently transforming a long term recording project into a live outfit. Endorsements from Richard & Judy, Public Image Ltd's Keith Levene and 247's Backbone have only served to fuel their egocentric ambitions.
